HOW THE CHINESE ZODIAC WORKS

There are 12 Chinese Zodiac animals that are used to represent years. These signs have played an integral part in the Chinese culture, but it also affects you, even though you don’t belong to the same nationality. The zodiac cycle repeats every 12 years, so it will be easy for you to figure out the sign of your year.

YEAR OF THE RAT (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020)

Those that are born on the year of the rat loves to save and collect, that is why they will never have a hard time financially and their lives are somewhat organized. You would know if a Rat cares for someone because they will open their wallets (and that, for a rat, is a big effort already).

The first sign that is compatible with the rat is the Dragon. Even though the Dragon will obviously be the dominant one in the relationship, they will admire the rat’s intelligence and it will make a prosperous union. The common interest will make the monkey also somewhat compatible with the rat. The rodents just need to stay away from the Horse.

YEAR OF THE OX (1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021)

People born in the year of the Ox are represented well by their symbol because just like the animal, they are hard-working and have a strong sense of responsibility. They will persevere despite the difficulties. They are sometimes hard to understand and they keep their emotions bottled up inside them until they finally explode.

The best partner for this sign is the Snake as they will form a good team because of their trust and mutual respect. Having a relationship with the rooster will lead to a long term bond because it will be based on passion. The signs that they must avoid are monkey, goat, and pig because they will encounter major communication difficulties.

YEAR OF THE TIGER (1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022)

Being a leader and protector is the attribute of those who are born in the year of the Tiger. They are independent and have high self-esteem. They won't even back down when there is an argument. Sometimes, recklessness is their biggest weakness, and it will cause them to fail, but then, these people will always stand back up.

Tigers are compatible with the Horse as they will have many things in common. Their relationship will be built on mutual trust and understanding. The dog will also be a good partner for their relationship will be based on harmony. They must not settle with an ox because they will always compete with each other.

YEAR OF THE RABBIT (1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023)

Gentle as the Rabbit itself, people who are born this year are quiet and polite. They are patient and intelligent along with a sense of responsibility. Overall the rabbit pays much attention to detail. These people take love seriously and would never fall for someone easily. But then, when they finally fall, they will also give their all.

Forming a relationship with a goat is the best for a Rabbit as their relationship will be mainly based on discovering each other, and they will live in harmony. A relationship with the pig will also be ideal because they will respect and appreciate each other.  They just need to know the Roosters are incompatible with them.

YEAR OF THE DRAGON (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024)

If a heart full of adventure and romance is being talked about, the people who are born in the Year of the Dragon is nothing short of it. They are indifferent to things that an ordinary person thinks about though, and they are mysterious. They may seem lazy, but they are more ambitious than anyone else.

As it has been said earlier, the rat is the best partner for the Dragon. They are both adventurous and ambitious and this makes them be perfectly compatible. The monkey will also be a good pair for the mighty dragon. Having a relationship with a dog will create conflict as the dragon is too proud to let the dog bark.

YEAR OF THE SNAKE (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025)

Those who are born in the year of the snake are idealists. They’ll look cold at times but deep inside, they’re warm and enthusiastic. They’ll not be at ease until they fully understand other people and they are fierce protectors when it comes to those that they love. They are very devoted individuals, but they would need to defeat laziness.

The snake needs some safe space and having a relationship with the ox will provide that because the ox will be willing to start a family. Going out with the rooster is also good because both are ambitious and can pay attention to details. The snake is just incompatible with the Tiger for they will always have things to disagree about.

YEAR OF THE HORSE (1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026)

These positive and energetic people who are born in the year of the horse will never be the first one to surrender in a fight. All they want is to have the freedom to do anything they like and to be able to express themselves. They are bad at keeping secrets and they lose interest quickly though.

The Tiger and the horse together will make a remarkable relationship because they both love freedom so much. The horse will also be good for the goat as the latter can complete them and it will be a harmonious union. The rat will make the horse angry, so they better not stay together for long.

YEAR OF THE GOAT (1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027)

There’re no kinder people than the ones who are born on the year of the goat. They would suffer silently rather than argue and ruin the mood of other people. They’ll still hold on to their opinion, however, and they are the ones who will do anything to fulfill their wishes. They may be kind, but they have tricks up their sleeves!

Though the goat and the horse may have some differences they’ll be a successful couple. The optimistic nature of the horse is complementary to the negative nature of the goat. They just have to stay away from the rat and the dragon for the serenity that the goat longs for will be ruined by them.

YEAR OF THE MONKEY (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028)

Those who are born in the year of the monkey do things based on their interest. If they don’t like what they’re forced to do, it’ll be expected that they’ll do it sloppily. If it interests them, however, they’ll pour their hearts into it. They are full of energy and curiosity and they value relationships more than the other signs.

These people are compatible with the rat as they share common interests, and they will have mutual admiration for each other. The Dragon will also be a good partner for the monkey because they will appreciate their intelligence. The monkey will never be compatible with a Tiger though because they are both individualistic.

YEAR OF THE ROOSTER (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029)

The people who are born in the year of the Rooster are able to sense what other people are thinking or feeling. They have high EQ and are quick to react to things. Though they might be cunning individuals, they make great friends. They have the foresight and can plan everything carefully. They are also extremely creative and talented in the arts.

The ox and the rooster both have a strong passion so they will attract each other. The rooster may also have a good union with the snake as they both are ambitious and meticulous. They will not be the most romantic couple out there though. This sign is simply incompatible with the rabbit.

YEAR OF THE DOG (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030)

Conservative and full of justice is usually what can be said to people who are born on the year of the dog. They’re usually valued in the workplace because of their loyalty and they rarely break rules. They only wish to have a simple and quiet life with their family, and they’ll do anything if it concerns the people they love.

The dog and the horse who are in a relationship may find the endgame to be marriage. The dog and the Tiger will also have mutual respect for each other, and they will live in harmony for a long time. They might not want to be associated with the Dragon, however, for there will be many conflicts between them.

YEAR OF THE PIG (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031)

Those that are born in the year of the pig are logical people who are able to fix whatever problems they’re in. They are not good communicators, but they are kind and are able to provide for themselves and their families. Most of the pigs are even wealthy! The only fault they have is that they easily lose their temper.

The pig is compatible with the rabbit because the former will appreciate lots of things about the latter. The rabbit also appreciates the pig just as they are. The pig and goat will also make a nice association together for they both have a sense of responsibility for their families. The pigs must remember to stay away from the snake as they will butt heads.
