The actor was in ‘American Reunion’ and ‘American Pie Presents: Band Camp’. Eugene Levy and Owen are the only actors from the original films to appear in the spin-offs. He has appeared in small roles over the years but was spotted in 2016 working as a waiter. It seems that Owen works in real estate as well.

JOHN CHO – THEN

Cho played an unnamed role. He is one of the partiers that said the phrase “MILF” in the film. The actor might just be the only extra in the movie that made it big. Interestingly, he revealed that his fame for the term “MILF” had been a huge surprise. Cho had been out of the country when the movie was released, but when he came, everyone yelled the acronym at him.

CHRISTINA MILIAN – THEN

Might not believe it but Christina Milian was actually in ‘American Pie’. Of course, she was just an extra so it would be crazy hard to spot her. But she was part of the choir at school along with Mena Suvari. Milian went on to become a pretty successful recording artist and continued to act as well.

JUSTIN ISFELD

Finally, another person you might have noticed on ‘American Pie’ is John Cho’s character’s friend. He was also known as “MILF guy” and played by Isfeld. The actor went on to appear in the sequel in 2001 and ‘American Reunion’ in 2012. The actor had gotten a few small roles before this franchise, but it seems that he did not continue his career in Hollywood.

THE RATING WAS DIFFERENT

Now that you know where the cast is now, how about some facts about the franchise? ‘American Pie’ is clearly for adult audiences, but it’s actually rated R. It originally had an NC-17 rating, which would make it hard to promote. Therefore, they edited the pie scene in a certain way, and luckily, got an R rating from the MPAA.

THE SCREENPLAY WAS FINISHED QUICKLY

Adam Herz actually wrote the first script for the film in just 6 weeks. He used ‘Porky’s’ and ‘Bachelor Party’ as inspiration to create a comedy about teens that are obsessed with girls. It would be interesting to see if they could make a similar movie for today’s world.

IT HAD A DIFFERENT TITLE

The title of this franchise became iconic for a whole generation, but that wasn’t its original name. The screenplay just read “Untitled Teenage Sex Comedy That Can Be Made For Under $10 Million That Most Readers Will Probably Hate But I Think You Will Love”. That’s a mouthful! They later called it “Great Falls” due to the name of the school.

LEVY WANTED TO IMPROVISE HIS SCENES

Levy and Biggs had some of the best scenes in the film because they were so awkward and creepy. The reason is that Levy improvised his lines because he did not like how the character had been written. “I wanted the character to be a real dad. Like a real, corny dad who cares about their children. I wanted to be the kind of parent that the kids didn’t want to hang with ... [the original version] was a little creepy. So I made him more square,” the actor said.

HANNIGAN WAS IN CHARACTER ALL THE TIME

Hannigan’s character was known for being pretty annoying and for the phrase: “This one time, at band camp…” Well, the actress continued to talk like Michelle in between scenes. That was probably not great for the rest of the cast, but each actor has their own method.

THE MOVIE DID NOT COIN “MILF”

The franchise is widely known for spreading the infamous phrase, and most fans believe that they coined it. However, that’s not the cast. In 1995, someone on Usenet posted about the acronym on the website. You have to wonder how popular it was at a time where not everyone had internet.

THE OLDEST HIGH SCHOOLER

You have already seen how young Cho looked back in 1999, but you might be surprised to learn that he was actually 26 years old at the time. How is that possible? In most teen movies, actors tend to be older but young-looking. Clearly, John Cho knows the secret to immortality because he doesn’t seem to age.

WRONG CREDITS FOR BLINK 182

You might remember Blink 182´s special cameo in ‘American Pie’. It happened during the famous webcam scene with Nadia and Jim. At the time, drummer Travis Barker had just replaced Scott Raynor. However, Raynor’s name still appeared on the credits, and Barker was left out.

THEY DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO PLAY LACROSSE

You might remember that Oz and Stifler were on the lacrosse team at school. However, neither Klein nor Scott knew how to play the game before they started filming. They started practicing for their scenes, but eventually, hired doubles to handle the shots.

It’s interesting to think that a movie like this would never be made today. The humor is outdated and would be considered too offensive, but people can still enjoy it for what it was back then. Let us know which was of these actors played your favorite character. If you liked this article, share it with your friends that grew up with this franchise. See you next time!
